Who It’s For

An open masonry fireplace drains heat from the house. You need an insert that burns clean and heats large areas. The Supreme Fusion 24 is for the home with an existing masonry fireplace that wants a flush-mount wood insert rated for 500 to 2,000 sq ft.

What Makes It Special

Its flush-mount surround and clean lines fit any decor, with a generously proportioned firebox and glass. A patented automatic air control cuts back the combustion air after lighting to the burn rate you set, so the fire settles into a steady, consistent burn.

Heat-activated blowers come pre-assembled, with a variable speed control tucked into the surround. An optional built-in barbecue grill attaches to the back of the firebox.

Possible Downsides

• It is a wood fire. You haul and store wood, clean ash, and sweep the chimney.
• Check the opening first. Your installer confirms the fireplace fits the insert.

If you want an old fireplace to heat the house, the Supreme Fusion 24 is the right decision. The fireplace becomes the house’s heater.
