Many homes and condos have no chimney and no gas line. You need a fireplace that installs almost anywhere. The Regency Onyx EX110 is for a room where a built-in electric fire gives you the look and some warmth without any venting. Choose gas and you take on a gas line and an exterior vent.

What Makes It Special

The Onyx installs as a 1-sided linear, 2-sided corner, or 3-sided bay, all from the same fire, behind a 17-inch glass viewing height, fully recessed with no trims needed.

Crisp flames dance between a life-like oak log set and glowing ember bed, lit by the Chromalight Plus designer LED system; the heater is paired with a blower. Control it with the included thermostatic remote or the app on iOS and Android.

Possible Downsides

• It is a supplemental heater, not your main heat. Its heater is rated at 1.
