Quick Facts

• Heating Capacity: Designed for ambiance, not as a heat source.

• Controls: Remote included with every burner; choose an adjustable flame with a small pilot that stays lit, or battery ignition with on and off.
• Logs: 7 pieces, 24″

Who It’s For

A wood fireplace is wonderful on the nights you light it, but hauling wood, building the fire, and cleaning out ash turn it into a project, so it sits dark most of the winter. You need a fire that starts with a button and still looks like wood. The Grand Canyon Arizona Weathered Oak 24-inch set is for the homeowner with a working wood-burning fireplace who wants the look of a real fire every evening, sized for a mid-size firebox. Gas logs are about the fire you see, not heat: choose them for ambiance, and choose a gas insert if you want the fireplace to warm the house.

What Makes It Special

Every log in the collection was gathered from one Northern Arizona oak hit by lightning more than 40 years ago, so the bulges, twisting, and cracking match across the whole fire.

The 24-inch set is seven logs. It works with the 2-burner and 3-burner pans in front-view and see-through fireplaces. Grand Canyon backs the logs, and burners installed indoors, with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, and the burners are built in the USA.

You choose how it lights. The modulating valve keeps a small pilot burning and lets you turn the flame up or down from the remote. The battery electronic ignition runs on two D-cell batteries and lights the pilot from the remote when you want a fire.

Possible Downsides

• It is for ambiance, not heat. Most of the warmth goes up the chimney; for real heat, look at a gas insert.
• The burner is sold separately. Every set needs a matching 24-inch burner.

If you want a real-looking wood fire without the wood, the Grand Canyon Arizona Weathered Oak 24-inch set is the right decision. The fireplace you used to walk past becomes the one you light every evening.

Pair the logs with a 24-inch 2-burner or 3-burner pan, in natural gas or propane, with either the adjustable-flame valve or battery electronic ignition.
