Grand Canyon: Arizona Juniper Kiva Log Set

Gas logs made for a kiva fireplace, not squeezed into one.

Quick Facts

• Heating Capacity: Designed for ambiance, not as a heat source.
• Fuel: Natural gas or propane, set by the burner you choose.
• Controls: Remote included with every Kiva burner.
• Logs: 7 pieces, cast and hand painted.

Who It’s For

A kiva fireplace is a corner fire with a rounded opening, and standard log sets rarely sit right in it: too long, too flat, or built for a square box. You need logs designed for that shape. The Grand Canyon Arizona Juniper Kiva set is for the Southwest-style home with an Adobelite Kiva fireplace that wants a gas fire that looks like it belongs.

What Makes It Special

The set is designed for Adobelite Kiva fireplaces and works only with the Grand Canyon Kiva burner, so the logs and flame are laid out for the opening instead of adapted to it.

Each of the seven logs is cast in cement refractory reinforced with steel fibers, then hand painted in cracked, split juniper. The logs carry a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

Kiva burners come in 18-, 24-, and 30-inch sizes, with actual widths of 12, 18, and 21 inches for the small kiva opening, and either an adjustable-flame valve or battery electronic ignition, with a remote with every one.

Possible Downsides

• It is for ambiance, not heat. Most of the warmth goes up the chimney.
• It needs the Grand Canyon Kiva burner. Standard burners don’t fit this set, and the burner is sold separately.

If you have a kiva fireplace and want a gas fire that fits it, the Grand Canyon Arizona Juniper Kiva set is the right decision. The corner fireplace looks the way it was always meant to, every night of the year.

Pair it with an 18-, 24-, or 30-inch Kiva burner in natural gas or propane, with an adjustable-flame valve or battery electronic ignition. The Arizona Weathered Oak Kiva set is the other look.
