Who It’s For

A new build or remodel wants a traditional built-in fireplace, and gas or wood adds cost and venting. You need a built-in fire that frames in like a fireplace. The Amantii ZECL 3228 is for the new construction or renovation that wants an economical built-in electric fireplace. Choose it for the fire and for zone heat; it is not a furnace.

What Makes It Special

It is designed to be fully enclosed in the wall, with an extra-deep tray and a heavy-gauge steel surround in an arched or square style.

A deluxe log set comes installed, with your choice of Ember or Ice media. Three LED strips give yellow, orange, blue, violet, or rose flames, and the heater warms up to 500 square feet and runs with or without the flame.

Possible Downsides

• It is supplemental heat. The heater warms the room you are in, not the whole house; the flames also run with the heat off.
• It is rated for indoor installs. It builds into the wall, so plan the framing with your installer.
