Who It’s For

A fire you only see from straight ahead wastes a room that people walk around. You need a fire with glass on more than one side, without a gas line or a vent. The Amantii Tru View Slim 30 is for the room that wants a 30-inch multi-sided electric fire. Choose it for the view from every seat and for warmth in that room; it is not a furnace.

What Makes It Special

It is a three-sided fire built for walls where depth is at a premium, so you get glass on three sides without building a deep chase.

The high-intensity LED flames come in yellow, orange, or red, with two flame patterns, three speeds, and 11 colors of canopy and ember-bed lighting. Amantii’s app connects over Wi-Fi, so you can set the flame, the heat, and a schedule from your phone, and the included thermostatic remote does the same from the couch. The heater runs at up to 1,465 watts on high, and the flames run with the heat off.

It comes with a ten-piece birch log set, charcoal and black fire glass, vermiculite, and the remote. Amantii backs the Tru View series with a two-year warranty.

Possible Downsides

• It is supplemental heat. The heater warms the room you are in, not the whole house; the flames also run with the heat off.
• It is rated for indoor installs. For a covered patio, look at the Tru View XL Deep or Extra Tall.
• It builds into the wall. Plan the framing and finish work with your installer.

If you want three-sided glass in an ordinary wall, the Amantii Tru View Slim 30 is the right decision. The fire is part of the room from wherever you are standing.
