Who It’s For

A linear fire on the wall is the look you want, but gas means a line, a vent, and a permit, and a cheap electric looks like a glowing strip. You need an electric fire that builds into the wall cleanly and still looks like flame. The Amantii Panorama Deep 50 is for the home, patio, or business that wants a 50-inch built-in electric with a clean, vent-free face. Choose it for the look and for warmth in the room you are in; it is not a furnace.

What Makes It Special

It is built for a truly trimless install: finish the wall right up to the glass, or use the black metal trim in the box, with a deeper firebox that holds a full log set. There are no visible vents or grills on the face.

You choose yellow, orange, or red flames, two flame patterns, three flame speeds, and 11 colors of canopy and ember-bed lighting. Amantii’s app connects over Wi-Fi, so you can set the flame, the heat, and a schedule from your phone, and the included thermostatic remote does the same from the couch. The heater runs at up to 1,465 watts on high, and the flames run with the heat off.

It comes with a ten-piece oak log set, an optional black steel surround, and the remote. Amantii approves it for indoor or outdoor installs when its outdoor guidelines are followed. Amantii backs the Panorama series with a two-year warranty.

Possible Downsides

• It is supplemental heat. The heater warms the room you are in, not the whole house; the flames also run with the heat off.
• It builds into the wall. Plan the opening and finish work with your installer.
