Superior: Boulder Mountain Logs (18")

Vent-free gas logs that warm the room and look like a wood fire.

Quick Facts

• Efficiency: 99% (as rated by Superior).
• Fuel: Natural gas or propane, by model.

Who It’s For

A wood fireplace that sits dark most of the winter is wasted, and a vented gas log set sends most of its heat up the chimney. You need logs that heat the room. The Superior Boulder Mountain 18-inch log set is for the home with a fireplace or firebox approved for vent-free logs. Superior rates its vent-free logs as heaters at 99% efficiency.

What Makes It Special

Glow-Ramp gives three distinct areas of flame: dancing yellow flames in the rear, glowing logs in the center, and vibrant embers in front.

The logs are molded from real timber with high-definition bark and split-wood detail, on a wood-burning-style grate. Superior covers its gas logs with a three-year limited warranty.

Possible Downsides

• Vent-free is not allowed everywhere. Check local codes before you buy.

If you want a log fire that heats the room, the Superior Boulder Mountain 18-inch log set is the right decision. The fireplace you used to ignore becomes the warmest seat in the house.
